State of the Building
Preparations for winter continue here at St. Andrews, including weatherizing on the office door to keep it nice and cozy for the coming season. Also, the concrete pad for the new shed has been poured and set and the shed itself installed. This is meant to help provide proper storage church’s garden and lawn maintenance tools and keep our grounds looking beautiful! The new grass has also come in well thanks to the tireless timer-watching efforts of the Building and Grounds committee.

In response to the parish’s school supply drive, we have received this letter from Satsop School.
Dear St. Andrew’s Community,
We, at Satsop School, would like to thank you so much for your generous donation. There are several students who will benefit from your generosity. We appreciate you thinking of us each fall.
Many blessings,

From Vestry member Joeleanne Hyde:
Dear Parishioners,
Due to unfortunate circumstances, we were unable to hold the annual Jeri Trudell Memorial scholarship carwash this year. Thank you so much for your generous donations. They are greatly appreciated. Your funds continue to support our scholarship recipients. Thank you again!
Workshops at Diocesan Convention
Join Episcopalians from across western Washington for a full day of education, inspiration, and community-building at Diocesan Convention! The first day of this annual event will feature workshops on topics ranging from creation care to prison ministry; from being Episcopalian in Palestine to artificial intelligence and the church; and from engaging young people to mapping neighborhoods. A mid-day plenary session with our newly consecrated Bishop, Phil LaBelle, will delve deeply into the Convention theme: Come to Me and I Will Give You Rest.
With 36 different workshop options, featuring over 70 presenters, there is truly something for everyone and all are welcome. To learn more about these amazing workshop offerings, visit the the Convention website. If you’re not already registered as a delegate, alternate, or representative, register as a participant, at $10/person. Friday, October 25, 10:00 – 5:00 p.m., Tacoma Convention Center.
Go to convention.ecww.org for more details.
Reminder
- The Holiday Bazaar has been rescheduled to November 9th. In the meantime, ready your knitting needles, wood-working tools, and the like! We are also taking donations of baked goods, books, plants, and gently used kitchen items, as well as fall and holiday decor. There will be a soup lunch provided and a chance to win at the yearly quilt raffle.
Thank you to:
- All those donating their talents and time to make Old Home Sunday a success
- Mert, Annette, and all the worker bees that have pitched in to make up the parking lot sale
- Our acolytes for their tireless contribution to the service
- Everyone who chipped in to pour the concrete and set up the new shed and to make sure our new grass was in good shape for the picnic.
