June 18th – Supporting outreach mission, our Ukraine Benefit Concert will be held Saturday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Bobbi McCracken and Bette Worth are arranging publicity and a beautiful dessert reception to follow the concert.
June 19th– Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans, on the anniversary date of the June 19, 1865, announcement of General Order No. 3 by Union Army general Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas, which was the last state of the Confederacy with institutional slavery.
June 19th – Father’s Day – As it was with Mother’s Day, this is the day to honor fathers, grandfathers, uncles, friends, or anyone who took on the role of Father’ in your life. It’s a day to say a prayer and give thanks, or possibly forgiveness, to the that person, for a doing a job that does not come with an instruction manual, but lots of unsolicited opinions.
